So-called "security" hangers are only antitheft by name because guests can still borrow them, except they can't use them at home, unless they have the necessary rings. These rings indeed play a deterrent role, but at what price!  At the price of the ring of course, a rather high cost for such a small piece of plastic or metal!  At the price of your guests' discontent, upset at the disappearing ring if they do not take the care to hold it with one hand while placing the hanger with the other!  At the price of your guests' consternation when their garments fall to the ground as the ring, worn or stretched out, fails to hold the hanger up...and at the price of your consternation too since you will have to replace them!
